British Council signs MoU with NEC to give training to 1600 North East Teachers on English, Math and Science

Teachers from North East are going to get training from British Council.

This educational body has signed an MoU with North Eastern Council (NEC) for providing training to 1600 teachers on English, Mathematics and Science for a period of ten months in eight north eastern states.

It is a two-phase pilot project beginning from November this year, and aims to train 100 teachers from each state.

The first phase of training will select best 50 teachers who will get further training to become master trainers. Later, they will be sent to remote areas to train the other teachers.

Second phase will begin from April next year.

The total cost of this project has been estimated of Rs. 4.66 Crore by NEC and the training infrastructure will be provided by the state government.
