The University of South Florida raises stipend of Kalam postgraduate fellowship

The University of South Florida has increased the annual stipend of its renowned APJ Abdul Kalam Postgraduate Fellowship, which was launched in 2016 for Indian graduate students who seeks to pursue PhD programmes from University of South Florida.

The amount of stipend has been raised to $22,000 from $18,000. The tuition fees of the students have also been waived up to four years.

Also known as Kalam Fellowship, it is offered to students who want to study in the fields of Applied Anthropology, Applied Physics, Business PhD Programmes, Cell Biology, Microbiology and Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science and Engineering, Engineering, Criminology, Integrative Biology, Marine Science and Psychology.

The prestigious fellowship for this year was awarded to Arjun Kadian for his PhD research proposal on “how misinformation spreads on social media exploring the phenomenon of fake news and its impact”.
